Joining him on the journey that takes him to Queens, New York is his wingman Semmi (Arsenio Hall), and together the two discover a world that much different than their own, filled with confusion and challenges. The film remains a favorite among Murphy fans even to this day, and news that a sequel is on its way has been a great source of excitement for anyone who still loves the original. Murphy has long held a strong respect for Snipes' acting abilities, and this has undoubtedly been a factor in the casting decision. As for exactly what sort of character Snipes will be playing in the sequel, Deadline has revealed that he will take on the role of General Izzi, ruler of Zamunda neighboring fictitious African nation. By adding Snipes to the film, Murphy has set up a potential onscreen foe, who for whatever reason, might be trying to stop Lavelle from being brought back to Zamunda.
